Just purchased a wicked edge and have sharpened 3 practice knives with results getting better each time. Gotta work up the courage before I do one of my microtech knives, anybody know what angle they normally sharpen at? Would 20 deg on each side be a safe starting point

That might depend on what model you're talking about. An excellent way for you to make that determination yourself is using the Sharpie Pen method. Plenty of Youtube vids on how to do that. Additionally, highly recommended but not required, is an Angle Cube to get a reading of the exact angle.

If you have good eyes and a set of calipers you can measure the edge width and thuckness and calculate the angle.

you might be caeful IIRC if you sharpen that edge microtech will not honor any warranty of said knife.Just what I have heard

Register yourself at wickededgeusa forum. Alot of information there. There is also a section on setup for specific knives. Also do get an angle cube, if you haven't done so. Its an accessory that IMO useful.
