Hi guys.

I just bought used Socom Elite on the facebook group. It was born on 11/2003. Black drop point blade with 154-CM steel and Black handles.

I am wondering when Microtech started using ball bearing system on their Socoms? Is there a certain year?

I am not sure if this one I just bought (dont have it yet, it will be shipped to me) has ball bearing system or its older "washer" system.

Forgive me for my ignorance =)

'03 birth should be washers, shouldn't it?

I have Socoms from - few years back and none of them have bearings, not even washers.

I don't know if the Delta has bearings, I have not carried the delta or elite in a really long time.

I got PM from one of the members with some Awesome info. Thank you for your help guys!

Here is info.

"Socom Elites up to and including 2011 models do not use any type of washer.
It is possible that they may use a micro inset washer but the tolerances between the blade and the aluminum chassis make it almost irrelevant.

Socom Elites 2012 and beyond use thrust bearings.

Socom Deltas and Bravos use KVT style bearings."

@SeattleDude:

the infos you've got are all right.
but it is possible that in latest 2011 were also used bearings maybe in general because i have a SelectFire 11/2011 with bearings.
