Microtech Microtech Halo VI internal parts.

Has anyone taken apart a Microtech Halo VI? I was taking mine apart and i found that the pin in the blade that the charging handle hooks onto to retract the blade was made out of graphite? like the lead from a pencil. It seemed odd to me that this is what was used to pull the blade back. Has anyone had experience with this?
 
That does seem odd. I haven't taken apart one but why do you think it's graphite?
 
Interesting; I'm now tempted to take one apart to check it out.

the piece ended up breaking into 2 pieces, and was originally in the small hole of the blade. the scribble was made with that piece that came out of it. this is just so bizarre to me.

Wow I have no clue.
I'll ask Sean at Blade Show and see what he says. This has me very curious.
