How does one go about finding values for Microtech knives? I have 3 late 1999 or earlier knives in mint condition I am thinking about selling. How do I find fair market values for these? I hate to part with them but this economy has really done a number on me.
Thanks for any help,
Paul

Paul you can check for prices on the knives for sell here on the exchange, the problem with that is often after a knife is sold the seller removes the price from his thread. You could also check ebay and track how knives finish there although not many Microtechs on ebay these days. You could also check Arizona custom knives, they take knives on cosignment and usually have a few Microtechs for sell. Lastly just google the name and model number of the knives you have and do a little research on the hits you get. hope this helps.

I have a 1998 SCOM and one just like it on eBay went for 382, but I think the man may have opened the sale up to Worldwide to get that price.
Bad thing is unless you put a starting bid on it then you never know what yours will bring till the last bid!
You also have fees and all with eBay so you aren't really getting that price, the more you make the more they make.
Here's the one I got and I suppose I'll keep it even though it's worth a lot more my Dad paid for it.

I also have a 1998 SOCOM-MA. Black blade, serrated. Does ebay let you sell the evil automatic? (I know this one isn't an auto but my other 2 are).

"Buy it Now" usually sells if the price is fair, but auctions with bids are iffy to see finished as non-California legal knives are verbotten on the 'bay.

I've seen a few auto's on eBay,(Spyderco) but the text didn't state that they was and the answer is NO they don't like autos on eBay and will drop your listing if they catch it or it's reported. (they will even drop butterfly type knives, I've read)
By the way there's a auto for sale section here in the exchange.

Truth be known, I'd much rather sell here than on evilbay. That's why I was asking about values. I want to get a fair price for them but I am certainly not looking to get rich. :D And I don't want to appear greedy by posting a price that's not even in the ballpark. At the same time I don't want to loose my shirt in the deal. I guess I'm looking for that often illusive middle ground. Something that's fair for everybody involved.

Thanks for all the comments. You've all been helpful.

p.s. I did get one of those once in a lifetime deals on a Randall one time. I saw the knife at a pawn shop. They were only asking $35.00 for it. I tried to get them down on that price. But I ended up buying it for the $35.00. Later sold It for over $400.00. I didn't feel too bad since it was from a pawn shop.
