This may have been asked before but I am curious if you manually open your D/A LCC and then somehow squeeze too hard and release the spring while the blade is already open, what will happen? Just curious. Thanks.

Hey Kimber...

First off,, it would be pretty hard to do by accident,, when you open a D/A manually,, it's in the opposite direct of the bolster release.... Not likely you would do it,, even if you were a Major Knob...

If you did fire it after the blade was open,, it wouldn't be real healthy for the leaf spring..

Hope that helped..

Yeah, it would just release the spring without any pressure or weight from the blade and the spring would just fly open. Just not something you want to do on purpose too often. Similar to dry firing on some firearms

I´ve done it once, so has my gf. It sounds horrible and you feel a slight sting in the chest, but it seems to make it out a-ok. As previous poster said, not something you should do too often.

Take care
