Hey guys, I might be getting one of these soon. I love the looks of this knife but I have a few questions..... What is the blade steel? How much do they go for? thanks, Z

blade steel is usually S30V, but there are blades made of 20CV, 154CM and S90V.

i would say a fair price for a LCC D/A is between $250 and $350, depending upon model.

one of my favorite D/A knives.

My Gen 2 LCC D/A (154CM) has been my primary EDC for getting close to 6 years. If you can find one with the Ti bolsters, and Carbon Fiber handle, you couldn't ask for a sexier knife. The quality is right up there with hand-made customs, and you couldn't ask for a cooler gadget factor. Just a warning: your thumb will be sore from firing that thing, at least until you get used to it.

Mikjk is pretty close on the expected price range, but I'd expect it to be in the higher side of that range. I bought mine new in Jan 01 for $250, and they've been discontinued. Newer versions might be had for the $250, but expect to pay more for Gens 1, 2 and 3. Don't be afraid to pick up a used one, either. I've seen some go for less than $250.

Post pics when you finally get one.

I have an LCC Manual with a 154cm blade and it is a veritable tank. It makes even the Spyderco Chinook look a bit lightweight and skimpy in build. :D

You won't regret getting one. The LCC is one of the best side openers to come out of MT. It is a great D/A auto knife.

Hey GUys..

Mine has 20CV CF and Ti bolsters.. My manual has 154 Green paper micarta and Ti bolsters...

Awesome knives.. A little big,, but great knives none the less..

I own two along with another very cool MT, the MTX-2. My everyday carry is my MA with titanium bolsters and carbon fiber scales. It has been through lots with me for about 3 years and it is still tight as could be and remarkably the ti coating on the blade is intact. I bought it used for about $120!

My DA is not quite as desirable IMHO. The spring steel is prone to corrosion, so I would not use it in salty or mucky conditions. Also the green scales, coated bolsters, and solid clip don't have quite the wow factor. I am also not a huge fan of serated blades, but I wanted a DA LCC because I think LCCs are classics.

Good luck finding a titanium bolstered, carbon fiber scale, D/A. I have been casually looking for years with no luck.
