I regularly carry a 1st Gen Microtech LCC M/A, one with a stonewashed 154cm blade, titanium bolsters, and carbon fiber handles. A friend recently told me that I was crazy for using this knife, and that NIB examples sell for $400+. Is this true? The LCC is a great knife and I know it is discontinued, but I can't believe that they are now selling for the same price as Sebenzas. Crazy.

I haven't looked at prices lately, but your friend is probably right about that. I have seen custom knives that weren't as well built selling for more than 400, it's not too surprising given the quality and rarity that these are selling for that much. You however are NOT crazy for using it. If I still had my D/A gen1 I'd be using it too. To me it's just a factory knife, albeit a very nice one. It's not even close to being "one of a kind" either, so if you enjoy it, use it without regrets :) .

One just ended this afternoon on ebay at $350. It was carried, plain edge, black 154cm blade, with carbon fiber scales. No box or papers. I wish I would have kept one of the several manual versions I had.

The LCC is definitely a nice knife, and in demand (and shortening supply) because it's discontinued. $400 sounded high to me for the manual version (was thinking more around $300-350 max), but going by some recent For Sale posts here and elsewhere, maybe not.

I have a manual that's been carried and the bead blast is a little worn but is in very good condition otherwise. Built like a tank and I wouldn't hesitate using it for most anything. Great knife and it deserves to be used.

I like mine but needed some short cash and tried selling it for what I thought was good deal here but no takers. No worries as I alternate it with my SOCOM or 7. keepem sharp

PS kind of weird shaped blade but man it is put together and SHARP!!!

I bought a slightly used Gen. I LCC M/A a few months back on the Bay for a little over $200. The D/As are going for about $400 new for the Gen. IV. I actually picked up a Gen. I in near perfect condition at a fantastic price about a month ago. I couldn't believe my good luck. They are really awesome knives and solid as hell. The Gen. I is for the collection. I've got the M/A and another D/A for EDC use. If you can find one of these buy it.

Edited to add that certain blade styles are more popular than others and will sell faster and at higher prices. The stonewash blades are most popular. Plain edges are most popular. Black coated and serrated blades just don't fetch the same attention as the other blades.

I sold a limited edition of the LCC for about $450, they are going high. Great knife only worth it as a collector.
