Can anyone give me an idea of current value for this knife if sold here on the forum? It's about 20 or so years old, never used, never carried. No box but does have the original cordura sheath. It seems like a high quality solid folder. Thanks!

Anywhere from $250-$400 depending on condition and if you have the box and other contents of said box!
The auto model is the preferred collectable.... Good luck.

Checking Arizona Customs (a well-known online knife consignment site), a Microtech Lightfoot (manual, partially-serrated) sold this February for $450. A non-serrated (manual) one sold last August for $395.

Despite those numbers, I would think the non-serrated version would be worth more, only because I believe plain-edge blades tend to be more popular than partially-serrated blades. But I'm no expert on Microtech Lightfoots, or the people who buy them.

Of course, as always, what something is ultimately worth is what someone is willing to pay for it.

this ^^ 100%, people either think they just look ugly, give up too much plain edge, or are a hassle to sharpen.
Good for the folks who like them however 👍
As far as auto vs manual, I have no idea
Edit: cool knife btw, you’ve had it 20 years and i wouldn’t think it could easily be replaced. I’ve regretted selling more than a couple of my older ZTs.
Now I’m slowly hunting them down… again lol

It belonged to my son who passed away 20 years ago but I don't really have an emotional attachment to it. Even though it's a fairly impressive piece to hold and admire the craftsmanship, I wouldn't consider using it because it's just too nice. I have a small group of knives I've accumulated over the years and even though some haven't been used I wouldn't feel bad about it if I did. I'd feel guilty about using this one. :) And BTW, I feel the same about plain edge blades as tony281sc2 describes.

All knives are meant to be used. They are well designed for a reason! Don’t feel guilty at all! If you like it and appreciate its design then I would say pop it in your pocket and enjoy it. Especially so since it has been in the family so long. The fact that it has been kept safe for all these years tells me you aren’t hurting for the $250, and maybe you are more keen on keeping it than you might think. But that’s just the amateur shrink in me. Haha. If you really don’t care for it then ignore all that and sell or trade for something you like more.

I have the box and sheath, double action.
I was told its worth 2000. Is that true?
