My new LUDT is sweet, but the clip is not a tight as I would like. Do I have to buy a special tool to adjust the 3 clip screws?

If it is the standard microtech screws with the three holes then you are supposed to purchase the tool from microtech but I've seen videos on YouTube of people jamming pieces of paperclip into the end of a small stick and they say it works just as good

Yes, if you want to do it right and not mess up the screws. They're available here: https://www.eknives.com/product/microtech-ludt-pivot-tool-bit/.

edit: Sorry, that's the body screw tool. The clip screws are a bit smaller. Let me look around a little.

edit 2: Actually, I just measured the triangular bits on the body and clip screws on my LUDT, and they are the same size, although the round bit underneath is larger in diameter on the body screws. I believe the tool I linked to should fit both. Shoot eknives an email just to be sure.

Might be a stupid question, but that never stopped me before!!
Are the screws loose or is the clip not bent correctly??
I have 2 LUDTs and both clips have never needed any kind of adjustment.
Let me know if you are able to get the tool, I have 2 of them. Don't bother trying to get them from Microtech, they don't make them any more.
Good luck!

^^^^Hey thanks for the info, yeah it seems like the knife can be pulled out of the pocket easily with only minor resistance. I can easily lift the end up and even though there is resistance it's light compared to all my other folders. Surprised really as this is a 200 dollar knife. And I really don't want to spend 25 bucks and shipping for a tool just to take the clip off. Ugh!

Understood re spending even more money after spending lots on the knife.
Very annoying and that's one of the reasons I don't have many Microtech knives.

Did the LUDT get smaller? I just received one produced in 2018 to replace the one I lost, produced in 2016. I’m probably loosing my mind but was wondering if this was the case.

The old ones with synthetic rubber inserts came in various sizes....the new, and only size, UDT is the Large, which I do not think is as big as the old large size.
