Microtech marking question

Hey People,

I stopped by at my favorite knifeshop today and saw a Microtech Lightfood L.C.C. I just had to have it! Upon handling it I saw it being marked 09/2000. Is this just like spyderco? Do I have the 9th knife of the first 2000 in production ? Or does this mean something completely different ?

I think the 9 is for September, as in September 2000. Mine is 12/2000, but the production run number should be on the left side of the Microtech logo (I think).

ZenGhost is right! The nine stands for the month, september. And the serial should be on the left side of the mt logo.

Great knife, hope you enjoy it! I´ve got a brother of yours then Zen, mine´s also born in december of 2000!

Take care and good luck

Well then, i suppose i should get in on this too... :rolleyes:

In any case, the LCC is the best knife out there at its price. By the way, curious what an actual knife shop charges for an LCC. Is it a DA?

If this is your first MT, be assured that the quality you are seeing in the LCC is present throughout the line, and once you cross over to autos, expecially OTF autos, youre a gonner...:rolleyes:

I've had a Mini-Socom for some time but didn't have any other Microtech products until just recently when I traded for a LCC born 08/2000. These knives are made to such a high standard. I am sure like other companies, Microtech has some individual knives that have problems but the two that I have are great. I have always liked the looks of the LCC but didn't know how much I would really like it until I got it and handled the knife for a few days. Now it rides in my primary pocket.

Amazingly enough.., I have one LCC that has no date markings (just an oversight I think).., but I've never seen another one except with after-market work done....

Well here in Belgium, locking blades beind illegal to carry and stuff, prices for american brands skyrocket!! I paid a bit less for my m/a then you guys would pay for a d/a :( . But it's worth it 'cause you actually get to handle the knife etc... By the way what does LCC stand for ?

LCC = Lightfoot Compact Combat

A collaboration between Microtech and Greg Lightfoot. Great knives, sturdy as **** and does look good!

Take care
