I might be receiving one of these in a trade soon and wanted to know some info about the knife first. Does anybody have a review or a link to a good review on this knife? How is the resale value? How big is it when compared to a Commander? If somebody could just tell me as much info about this knife as possible, I'd really appreciate it. Thanks a lot!

The Microtech SOCOM line was the hot topic at this forum two years ago when I first joined. I remember nothing but raves about it.

All I remember is that this was (and still is) considered one of the creme-de la-creme production liner lock folders, and NO ONE had anything bad to say about it.

The Lightfoot LCC was also a big fave on these forums for a period in time.

As with most things, people go on to talk about new stuff and (someone correct me if I'm wrong) Microtech stopped production on it for a bit of time.

Yes, I'm heavily contemplating on getting the full-sized SOCOM Elite after two years of consideration. Unfortunately for me, with the bad exchange rate, the knife would cost me a lot of money. Therefore, I have some serious thinking to do.

It was between Microtech SOCOM, and the Emerson Commander but I think I would be happier with the SOCOM if the opinions of the forumites are any indication.

MT and EKI are my fav production knives, but the mini socom is too small for me, love my SOCOM and SOCOM elite, but the mini i had was traded off pretty quick.

it is MUCH smaller than a EKI commander, at least a full size commander.

again, they are good knives, i just like a little bigger one, big hands i guess........

You must mean a mini-Socom review like has been posted, there is no such thing as a mini-Socom Elite so far anyway.

The mini-Socom has it's fans and it's a very nice smaller knife for sure, i like the MA ones myself. The mini-Socom's overall size is 7.25" with a 3.25" blade, weight 2.6oz.
