Microtech Mini Socom Elite

Hi. Just got a Microtech MSE from Chad (tattva)...and I am really impressed.

I had heard so many horrible stories about Microtech's QC and customer service, that I almost backed out of the deal. Chad assured me of the knife's quality, and it is just as described.

Beautiful fit and finish, great design, excellent lockup, NO blade play.

I just wanted everyone to know that not all MT's are bad, so take the chance and you might be surprised.

Now, I have to find something to replace the skate-board tape inlays.

Thinking about getting one myself.

I have the older mini Socom, Socom and Socom Elite which are all great knives. Well made, tough and totally functional. May I ask what was wrong about the mini SE inserts?

Nothing's wrong with them really, I have a thing about customizing whatever I can though. I have seen a bunch of beautiful replacement inlays like rayskin, lizardskin, CF, abalone...etc. I may try my hand at some burl veneer inlay. I just picked some up today.

Love that knife! Need to scrap together $100 for one. Too bad I need to find those screwdrivers too
