Siggy, welcome to the forum. No, one is not better than the other from a quality stance. One is better than the other for different tasks. The only real differance is size. They are both well made knifes. If you are looking for a large strong knife for heavy use, go with the elite. If you just need a good pocket knife that carries well in the pocket with the clip and is great for light cutting tasks, go with the mini. The mini has a small thin handle so if you have large hands, it does tend to feel small in your grip. Just get the right tool for the job. You will like either one.

Well, depends on what you want...? 
One is a lot larger than the other one. Other than size, the other big difference will be microbar (SOCOM-E) versus liner lock (M-SOCOM). Personally, I thought the liner lock was a better design, because the Microbar just doesn't have enough strength on the ball detent to reliably hold the blade inside the handle. Then again, my experience with the MT linerlcok is based on the full size SOCOM (a great knife), it may be slightly different in the M-SOCOM.
