Did not even have it a day when a screw just fell out....I know - I know before you bash me....I let myself get sucked into the allure (and it is a cool little knife)
of a Microtech Mini Matrix w/ATS 34 steel... Just working the flipper action and <inappropriate emoticon removed> a screw fell out....

I refuse to play the game of send it back and wait 6months for them to 'tighten' a screw....going back for a refund.

I had the same screw fall out on my mini matrix. I put it back in with some blue loctite has not happened again.

Might this be in the wrong forum - hardly a custom or handmade knife.

Sorry to hear the thing had a screw fail - but at least you can get a refund from the sound of it.

Personally, I refuse buying a Microtech. Partly from what I hear of the business practices, partly because the Company makes the Jagdkommando and partly because of the 777 debacle.

I realize, that others are free to buy what they like and that Im most likely in the minority on that one.

This isn't a custom or handmade knife so I'm moving it to General.

A friend of mine recently ordered a Whaleshark and the blade was off center closed which looked really bad, because MT uses a V shaped (on the inside) back spacer. The detent made a gritty sound opening and closing. It was returned.

It really amazed my that microtech doesn't seem to have heard about something called locktite.

I've heard about screws loosening before, and it happened to my socom elite.

This wouldn't be such a big problem if it had been a knife with torx screws, but because of the unique screws microtech owners are screwed.

Crazy. I don't believe you. Same exact screw fell out in my unboxing video! Hmm I do love it but....I agree. Proprietary is not the way. They don't want you to take it apart. But then you have to send it in. Its the perfect EDC. Light/deep carry. Im returning for now. Getting one a few months down the road. It could be the heat treat, threading issues on both screw and stop pin. I know they will fix it. For NIB. $265 shouldn't have to send off. Hopefully a price-drop happens soon.
