If price were not an issue, which would you choose and why?

Also, is the clip on the mtx the same as the cmtx? I have only seen pics of the cmtx and I don't really understand that clip. It looks like it would snag on stuff. Why is it designed like that? If the mtx has a different clip, where can I find a pic of it?

The CMTX has the weird clip for it's Auto counterpart, you push in the inside of the clip to fire the knife. The MTX2 doesn't have the same clip. The CMTX is a thinner knife than the MTX, I like the heft and look of the MTX2 better than the CMTX.

samhain73, thanks for the pic of the clip. I decided to go with the MTX2. I tried to order it tonight but no one had it in stock. Dang!

the ctmtx whatever has a design flaw in auto

FYI

The MTX2, bar none. The CMTX5 uses thumb studs as a blade stop:barf: . You can also buy the Timberline Valloton which is just like to the CMTX5 but made with lower cost materials. The MTX2 is just a pleasure to handle compared to the CMTX5.
