Ok, which fixed-blade knife would you prefer:
Microtech Currahee or Zero Tolerance 0121?
Thanks for the help.

I'd go with the ZT. Microtech quality control has slipped and Lord help you if service is ever needed.

I'd go with the ZT...although the Currahee will most likely be sharper.

that is sad to hear. I love my old Microtechs. I have LCC's and Socoms and love them, but they are all at least 5 years old. The socoms are 10 years old.

It makes me sad to say it. Microtech was great when they started and were in FL, but those days are long gone. I've bought one new manual folder from them and won't buy another one. No way would I buy a new run auto, not worth taking a chance.

And Microtech has also made the announcement they're out of the knife business for a year or so while they concentrate on their new firearm venture. It was bad enough already, but if you need customer service on a knife now you are well and truly screwed.

Quote from the MT site...

We will be temporarily halting all of our knife production as we get transitioned and geared toward our small arms production. Our focus will be concentrated on our firearms programs. We will return to our full knife production and introduce our new knife lines at SHOT Show 2009 in Orlando. During this down time, we will continue to warranty our knives just as we always have. Also, from this point forward, we will be gearing all of our available production of small arms to our distributors...

you know, I just got my 0121 today and like it. I have had some experience with ZT before so I knew I would get some good stuff with them!:)

Go with the ZT!

Zero Tolerance all the way. I had a Microtech Ultratech made in the Vero Beach factory when they were considered better quality and it does not even compare to my buddies ZT 0301. If you want cool factor get the Microtech, but if you want a workhorse knife that will deploy just as fast ZT is the way to go.

With Microtech in it's current situation I'd say go with the Kershaw ZT. Plus the ZT is cheaper most places. Add to that the DLC blade coating and G10 on the ZT and I'd say it's a much better buy.
