I've been reading all the great reviews about the LCC but I haven't heard anyone mention anything about the Socom Elite. It seems that the Socom with the Microbar lock would make it a sturdier knife. I'll be the first to admit that the LCC is a better looking knife but is it a better knife? I would like to buy both but can afford only one and I'm leaning toward the Socom Elite. Any opinions?

BTW I meant to put this in the general discussion forum. My apologies.

my opinion is you should get a temporary side job and buy both!!

They are both excellent knives. I believe the LCC is so popular not only for its construction, but also for its carbon fiber scales and titanium bolsters. It looks more like a custom knife.

The SOCOM Elite is, to me, a sturdier knife. Microbar lock, aluminum handles, and a more useful blade shape are but some of the reasons.

I would have a hard time choosing between the two, but if I were going for the "tougher" of the two it would be the SOCOM Elite.

I think Dennis pretty much hit the nail on the head. The LCC is a fantastic knife that sports solid construction and a lot of aesthetic details that have never before been available on a folder at anywhere near this price point. But, in terms of shear strength, I too would give the nod to the SOCOM Elite.
