Microtech screws backing out.

I've had an issue with my Microtech Combat Troodon's screws partially backing out over time. I have a tool to re-tighten them, but the same issue always arises. I've read that the blue 242 variant loctite can solve this. Anyone have any experience with this/better suggestions? Thanks in advance.

A drop of blue Loctite or equivalent is the ticket. It works best of you first clean the threads with a solvent like alcohol, naphtha or acetone, etc. No need to over-tighten the screws afterwards. Just cinch them down firmly and allow the thread-lock to dry/expand.

use locktite, it will solve your issue. just use a drop on the side of the screw.

this is common in the industry and an easy solution. using red locktite will cause you to not be able to loosen the screw again, so stick to the blue locktite 242.

you will want to let it dry, but first make sure you can open and close it and make sure the blade is center etc first. the more you play with it before it dries the more it can loosen up again depending on the knife anyway.

Thank you for your reply, I went with the loctite and after setting it seems to have done the trick for now!

Thanks for the tip, cleaning beforehand to get rid of any oil/grime wasn't something I had thought of. Seems to have worked well!
