is a microtech select fire manual worth it if you just want a knife? does it have anything special about it?

The Select fire manual does not have anything special about it other than the design. I guess if you want a odd/cool looking knife without the risk of the dual action auto being illegal then it would probably be a good option. But as far as the price goes I personally don't think it is worth it, but that's just an opinion. like I said though if you like the design
then it is up to you.

It is an award winning design that has a really nice feel in the hand. Sure you don't get to "select" whether its manual or automatic, but it is a really nice folder.

+1 on that opinion...I own the manual version and I refuse to pay the money for the option of automatic.

Sorry if I'm off-base... But was the Select-Fire meant to be Microtech's take on the SNG? I could swear I remember reading something like that somewhere...

Not worth it.
Nothing I've read about MT has been good. From their shoddy CS, to their mis-firing OTF's.
And where might they have found the inspiration for this design??? Or did they just steal it, like they did ZT's 0777 ?

They have minor similarities, but I was only able to pull up the Marfione versions. I don't know anything about regular production runs.

Needless to say, the original Strider versions look much better and are probably twice the knife for the price.
