Okay. So i just had purchased a Microtech socom auto and as i was using it. It was out the box sharp,(M390) but i knew i could polish it up even more, so I decided to throw in a mirror polish on the blade. The knife ended up in being hair whittling sharp. Then as the next time i come to use my knife i deployed the knife out. I notice the tip was chipped off. Now im not too sure if the knife has a bad heat treat. Was the steel under too much stress? Or was it a bad batch? What could have cause my knife to chip like that?
