Just ordered a Microtech delta D2 powdered steel black regular blade. What do you guys think good bad and ugly. Give your honest opinions weather you own one or not took me a long time to pull the trigger on this one. You know what I'm talking about!

I got one a bit ago and think it's pretty slick in general. It's great looking, very refined, has a classic blade profile, great point, nice handle and what...feels "mean" if you catch my drift. In general it cuts pretty well- depends on the medium though. Goes through cardboard better than my Military, JD Smith, Rat 1 and 710.

On the down side- mine came with zero detent and it's been hard to dial in, the proprietary screws have become a pain...one is loose beneath my clip. I tried emailing the shop and they emailed me back to call a number. I got a woman who put me into a voicemail that I haven't heard back from. :grumpy: I emailed the dealer and got another place to call so I'll try that. I read a lot of what a great slicer it is, but besides the cardboard, it can't hang with my spydercos or 710.

Wow doesn't sound like their customer service is very good. Thank you.

I picked one up a long time ago...one of the first S35Vn models and It had to be returned for repair due to a detent that stuck shut from time to time. They replaced the entire lock side and returned the knife in under 3 weeks time. (I actually have the 1/4 drive bit to fit the proprietary screws to adjust mine...for those looking for said bit it can be picked up at Blade HQ.) I've carried it on and off for a year or so with great success. It cuts what I need it to and has never failed me. Cardboard/rope/tape/wood/cloth etc...no complaints here. The ceramic bearing pivot is smooth as silk & the lockup is great.

I have admired and wanted a Socom for a LONG time but I have been scared of getting a dud and then having to deal with terrible customer service.
I also despise proprietary hardware.
But I am anxious to hear everyone's experiences.

I too have been terrified about buying such an expensive knife and getting a dud I'll let ya know how mine is

I bought one a couple of months ago (same exact one, actually)--and other than the detent being a little on the weak side (I wouldn't say no detent), it is a great knife... someone already said "mean"... that's right, mean-- but elegant at the same time. I have lots of folders and the Socom Delta feels/ handles like a fighting knife, first and foremost. Even more so that a CS Recon 1; it has cut anything I used it on and the CPM-D2 is excellent stuff--my grind is perfect, blade is centered, deploys fast and smooth, lock-up seems pretty solid... etc... and it has great balance. I think the f&f far exceeds the ZT's and Striders than have passed through my hands as well... I think you will be satisfied.

Thanks so much that's what I wanted to hear l love my Zt's but from what I've seen online the Micro 's do look nicer.
