Microtech Socom Elite Detent.

I have a couple Socom Elites and it showed up with a strong, maybe perfect, detent. I think this knife flys way under the radar for how good it really is all around. Perfect centering and lockup, great action, screaming sharp, great for EDC tasks but also one of the best last resort self defense ergonomics and pointy blade combinations on the market as a folder.

I used to own a Socom Elite, and mine also had a strong detent. After some experimentation I figured out exactly the right angle of attack for my thumb, stuck that in my muscle memory, and had no problems flicking it out after that. Keep at it and you'll find the right spot! Great knife. :thumbsup:

I actually got cut and needed stitches from the hospital, and I was young and didn't know better to not even talk to this guy but microtech sent an "person" to my house, came inside, and asked me questions about how I cut myself, ETC.

Regardless of whether I believe the veracity of your story, or not; I've never had a MT Socom Elite, fail any type of spine whack test....but then again, I don't do a lot of whacking off with my knives.

I've owned four or five of them. I currently have two of them now. One is a Bronze tanto one that has a perfect detent, along with the few others I've sold. But the other one I have which I bought both new has a super strong detent. So it's a hit or miss type of thing suppose. Good luck!
 
I have so many questions but cant decide if I should start with the 300K, the spine wacking , or the personnel visit from the manufacture. Maybe you could expand on all 3? Ill hang up and listen to your response.



Oops forgot to stay on point….Ive owned 2 that were excellent. Must have been 1999 or 2000 right after my first Benchmade 970 and tactical was still cool!

I was reading this thread. To answer your question, yes all of mine broke in. The most current one made in July of this year is the worst! They do break in though at least all of mine did.

No, actually you were questioning his story he posted from the beginning. Let's get a mod to put it all back up. So we can all see the truth. Can we? Trust me, I've been a member here from the year this was launched with maybe 20 members it took days if not weeks to get a response it was useless. I've always lurked since then, but only became a member again maybe 5 years ago or so. We have always been tired of people like you. People like you is why I left. I probably haven't posted 5 times in the maybe the last 5 years I've been a member. My first username was Salamander. So old I can't even find my old posts. Peace out.

It's not that important, I just couldn't follow what was going on with all the edited posts.....doesn't really matter anymore.....
