I just bought the Microtech socom elite from another forum, guy claimed it was used no problem. The knife looks brand new never used, but I have three issues. The blade has a slight bit of up and down play, the thumb stud is loose, and the glass breaker is also loose (it just spins and rattles) not sure if that is normal since this is my first socom I would like to know is there a way to tighten the pivot cause i can only get it so tight. Thank you any info is appreciated

Is your Socom the newer type with proprietary screwd or the older gen that uses T-bits? If the new version you'll need the triangle bit which Bladehq sells for like $20. With that you can take the knife down and fix the glass breaker rattle. The frame screws may just need to be tightened. If that's not it you can wrap a small piece of teflon or electrical tape around it. I've heard of people's thumb studs coming loose, Loctite for that. Don't know if the play can be adjusted out. Best bet might be to find a local MT dealer and have them look at it.

Honestly, I'd be looking for a refund from the seller. Looks like he sold a user and shipped a beater.

it was so cheap i really cant complain and there are no wear marks anywhere, It looks Brandnew like it just got taken out of the box. It has torx screws it was made in 2011

Make sure that the tang and lock face are clear of any lubrication. If there is any oil in between the lock face and the tang you can experience up and down play.
