Microtech Socom Elite M/A Question.

I just received my Socom Elite today and after checking it out there doesn't seem to be any detent. The blade is quite think though, I wonder if it is just so heavy that it easily overcomes the detent that may be there. Are there any Microtech Socom Elite manual owners out there that can tell me if this is normal? It's one of the 2012 models.

I have the same knife (2011 vintage though I can't see there being a difference ) and it has a detent. You can see it on the lock bar better if you shine a flashlight. The best way is to open your blade to just before the blade locks. If you don't see the tiny ball there, it may have fallen out in which case you'll want to pursue warranty.EDIT: The detent is very light though.

I have several version of the manual socom (small and large but not the newest 2012) and one thing I always appreciate about them is the nice "click" of the detent ball when you close it.
