looking at getting another folder for edc. What one would you pick and why? im looking at ether a strider smf or rw-1 and for the microtech the socom elite in tanto or drop point serrated or non serrated.

I've had a RW1 and a couple of DGG SMF's. The Drop point SMF's were better for my day to day things. I haven't had a socom so I can't say anything about it.

I have both a Socom Elite and SMF with aluminum scales. For an edc I prefer the Socom. It is thinner and lighter. You get a full 4 inches of cutting out of the blade and the added perk of a glass breaker. I can also deploy it a lot faster. The bearing system is super fast/ smooth. I usually carry one of those at work as my third knife. I always do a small fixed blade and two folders. If you are looking in that price range I wouldn't discount a Umnumzaan or large Sebenza. Both of mine tend to get more pocket time then my Socom or SMF.

Not into the Socom Delta at all? Personally I like that a lot better for EDC since it is tip up instead of tip down like the elite.
