Is it spring assisted? I watched some videos and it looks like it's spring assisted...but the description doesn't say so.

The newer Socoms use a pivot with bearings and are very fast to open. There are older auto Socoms as well. I guess it depends on what version was in the video you were watching.

Does anyone know if you can remove the glass breaker on the back?

It snaps off when you try to break glass.
