Microtech Socom or Socom Elite?

Hi,

I'm in the penultimate stage of my latest knife buy...

It's going to be a Microtech, it's going to be a Socom... but which one? The standard Socom is easier and cheaper for me to get hold of, but what are the differences? Am I going to regret not getting the Elite? Just for the record I'm after a stonewashed plain edge in the clip point.

The sooner someone can help me make my mind up the sooner I can order...

I'd go with the Elite. It's got the MicroBar locking mechanism, which was considered an upgrade in lock safety. The MicroBar can also be replaced if it should ever wear out (a highly doubtful situation). In addition, a kraton insert was added to the clip side on the Elite.

BTW, the Elite is a superb knife. Good luck with your purchase.
