I bought a Microtech Ultratecch U7 from Scott at www.itoldyouitwassharp.com and it came with what looked like a blemish on the tactical red anodized handle. I called him and he told me that Microtech has changed the people who do the anodizing for them. And that he got in over a dozen other ones and they were all the same. Well the blemish was actually how the whole scale was supposed to look. As over the next few hours of holding the knife it became more like the blemish. Which was o.k. with me as long as the whole handle was remotely the same color. It was like some sort of dark film was all over the knife except in the "blemish" areas. Anyway, the anodizing flat sucks on these new knives. It has a small chip that has appeared at the opening and a new very small chip on the back of the handle, all in less than 24 hours. And the knife has been stored in its sheath the whole time. I will see how the knife holds up this week. I'm going to a knife show where Scott will be (the guy I ordered from) and if it gets worse I am going to ask for an exchange, or maybe upgrade to a Troodon. For 280.00 you would think you would get a decent anodizing job. Not anymore, not from Microtech. Anyone else have this problem? Mine is stamped 02/2007 01397
