Lets hear some opinions on the Microtech Ultratech. We love this knife here at BladeOps, and would love to know how you guys feel about them! What are your favorite OTF's?!

Wouldn't be something I would ever buy. in my day to day life, I have never encountered the need for a Bayonet style knife.

Now the DOC I would be interested in.

I had three ultratechs sold two to fund another blade, the one I have left ( in fact it,s my avatar) is a olive drab green one blade side plain one fully serrated, its the best of both worlds in a otf in my opinion, the plain side to cut paper, tape ,cardboard, and the serrated side for rope, twine and such. Kinda wish kept them all.

Had an SE Ultratech. It was a fun knife, but not the toughest thing. No OTF knife will be as strong as a pivot, and the novelty wore off eventually. I also got sick of being told "Those things are illegal!" (they're not here in Oregon).

Sold it and haven't missed it since.

I have only handled a UTX-85, but I would like to have Ultratechs in single edge and tanto versions (non-serrated versions).

In all honesty they serve little to no function besides being a box cutter or a serious defense weapon.

Much can be achieved cheaper and more reliably in a less expensive package. While the Ultratech is by FAR the most solid OTF I've personally handled/owned I will say, I had a recent failure with mine which seals the OTF fate for me, utterly useless.

It's an awesome idea, great execution however a tad too impractical for the majority of uses in an EDC.
