so I’m looking to pull the trigger on one but wanna know how they hold up and if they get worn out like spring assisted knife springs, I would actually use it too so has any one had problems with it just being a Everyday carry?

Not sure what you mean by "worn out". But the spring(s) used in double action out-the-front autos aren't compression ones, they're tension ones (the kind that get pulled). When you push the slider forward you put tension on the spring, and at a point the mechanism releases the blade and fires it forward and locks in place in the open position. It does the same when closing. Thus, whether its open or closed the spring is at rest. Unlike a single-action OTF (like a MT HALO) or regular folding auto where it's compressed when closed. It's extremely unlikely that you'll ever wear out the spring. However, like all springs, there's always a chance of it breaking. But you should worry about it.

Microtech’s are terrific knives and the Ultratech has been on the market for quite some time, so I wouldn’t be too concerned about it. If you use it for an edc, more than likely it will hold up just fine. If you sit around day in and day out popping the blade in and out, something will eventually break, but it probably wouldn’t happen this decade.

Find the YouTube video that shows hard testing of the Ultratech, even batoning. Holds up very well to hard use.

I'm sure this won't be a popular opinion, but I didn't enjoy my experience. It was purchased from a reputable store and used only for the lightest of work. I got it for myself on my 30th bday because I had wanted one for awhile. It broke after a month, and would hang up randomly before that. Took it back, they sent it in, about a month and a half later I got it back and it broke 3 days later. It was probably opened and closed 4-5 times over 3 days. Took it back and had it sold to a guy asking about used ones, told him it would be fresh back after another month and a half. Took $100 loss on it because I knew it wasn't right (I told him about the history). When I asked if this was common on one of the microtech pages I instantly got deleted, which made me wonder if that's why you don't see more complaints about them. It sucks it happened because I wanted to like them, but until I sold it they had the knife about 3 times longer than I did.

That knife like all Microtech OTF knives are designed for defence, sure it can be used to cut many things but why use it for that, also just don't gob oil on it's blade as it will surly cause it to hang up.

The ultratech is gtg. However... my Benchmade Phaeton and GT Recon get a great deal more pocket time.

No, they were not designed for defense at all, and is a horrible option for such. Otf knives in many forms were designed as rescue and evade knives with one handed opening being essential. Gravity knives as a first iteration were for cutting parachutes for soldiers that may have been caught or hung up.

You also do gob oil on the blade, as it's important to flush out debris with a lot of oil, but then blow it out with compressed air after for maintenance.

So yes they cut like any other knife, EDC tasks are fine.
