I heard that they were one in the same so I checked mine and they are identical in shape and both are Titanium. Anyone know the story on this? Did Microtech purchase these clips from CRK? Maybe Chris will have some input on this.

Both Marfione and Reeve make the most precision-made stuff on the market, and Anne told me at Blade that the Nnonka is actually a collaboration between the two. Specifically, the machining of some of the internal screwdriver stuff. I'm sure that assistance may be in some way reciprocated from time to time ;).

Thanks Professor, but you'll have to bring me up to speed. What's a Nnonka?

...it's the new fixed blade debuted at Blade '02. In the handle's hollow it contains a racheted screwdriver set. You can do a search in this forum and turn up some pics, or there might be some stuff at www.chrisreeve.com

Let's get all this straight!:)

Microtech buy pocket clips from us - they are exactly the same as the ones we use on the Sebenzas.

As far as the Nkonka is concerned - it is not a collaboration with Tony Marfione at all (sorry that got misunderstood!). The wording on our brochure regarding Tony's input is as follows: The concept for an in-handle screwdriver kit was initiated by Tony Marione of MicroTech, but the execution, components and details are unique to Chris Reeve..

Just for the record, here is a photo of the Nkonka...

Thanks CRK for your informative reply. I learn something new here on a regular basis.

My clip on Sebenza does not match that on my Ultratech. The Ultratech clip has a U-shaped bend somewhere along the clip that the Sabenza clip does not.

I coulda sworn that's what you told me at Blade Show, but then again, I am about half nuts. I should also know better than trying to relay info as a middleman. Thanks for setting the record straight!

Boink, you must have the old style Sebenza clip. The old style Sebenza clip did not have the U shape portion you mention. CRK upgraded the design to hold your knife more securely with less wear and tear on your pants. If you like the one on your UT you can order one for your Sevenza from CRK.
