Microtech vs MOD

I bought a Masters of Defense Tempest knive this weekend, and it seems
to be of very high quality. Microtech Socom is also on my shopping list.
Is the quality of Microtech better than MOD (the price is at least
higher...)?
I'm thinking of MOD Tempest vs. Microtech SOCOM.

I will put in my $0.02 real quick like. I have owned a good number of the Microtech user style knives, SOCOM's, Mini SOCOM's(manual and auto), MUDT, UDT, LCC, etc. I also recently picked up my first MOD, a Trident manual. I would have to say that the MOD is a lot better buy, and it feels like a more solid knife to me. I tried carrying some of those MTs, and they just didn't feel right for some reason, but they sure look pretty on a shelf I guess. That is the main reason that I no longer own any of them. However, I do intend to add a MOD Tempest to my carry rotation down the road a bit.

I don't know if the quality of the MT is any better than the MOD, for the $$$ difference it should be, but they seem pretty similar to me.

I would say if you want to use a knife, get an MOD, if you want it to sit on a shelf, get a MT.
