Does anyone know if Microtech makes the Whaleshark in CTS-204P with a symmetric grind? Why anyone uses a chisel grind (other than cost...and for a $300 knife, grind cost should not be an issue) is beyond me.

Also, does anyone have any first hand experience with the Whaleshark? I've heard mixed things about Microtech and since I buy most of my knives online...I won't be able to handle one before pulling the trigger on one.

Thanks as always.

I have a whaleshark and it is excellent. Flips great, awesome F+F sharp as can be. I dont get to mixed up into the politics of the knife world. I like the knife a lot. I also have knives that cost a lot more than $300 with chisel grinds. It must just be preference. I don't really get why it is used at all either.

The two people involved in the design and production of that knife are two of that last people I want to give money to. I care about that sort of thing personally but of course we are all able to make our own decisions about that sort of thing.
