I understand that Microtech has finally released their production version of the WhakeShark. Unfortunately, I have not seen any decent videos/pics/reviews of it.

Could someone with a production WhaleShark chime in?

I hate mine... It was my first and probably last MT. I bought it based off all of the available photos at the time which were of the CF custom, not the G10 that it came with. Ignorance on my part. Its balance isnt so hot, the lock up is late and with a semi-hard flip will reach 100% only to be stopped by the scale. The handles are uncomfortably thin and my fingers hit the lock bar (where else do I put them on such a small handle) and when I'm trying to close the knife it's a PITA. The detent is great for the flipper and damn near impossible with the terribly designed, dime sized, slippery piece of crap thumb stud.

I would have been pissed if this knife cost me $80. However at $312 I think I would have been happier losing my wallet. Definitely gonna throw microtech to the bottom of my list. For a knife that took 7 years(?) to actually produce I COULDN'T be more disappointed.

Ouch. Have you contacted Microtech about fixing the lockup on that knife?
