I've heard several good and bad statements about Microtech. Is there a time frame that anybody would consider the quality of knives they put out to be better than the present. Also I have a new select fire with a lock that feels like it is running over file teeth when I disengage it. Very hard to disengage it also. Thanks

Might be more useful in the autos sub forum. As to MT, as I understand it their quality was better a few years ago, but regardless theyre completely terrible when It comes to warranty and customer service work

Is yours a auto or manual?

I own a manual s/f and it was hard to disengage when I first got it, with the lock sticking quite bad.

I opened it hard a few times and it is pretty easy to disengage now.

Don't know if that will work for you but it sorted mine out good.
