Microtech's replacement for the SoCom

I heard that this was the last year for the socom. What are they going to replace it with? What new stuff is coming out from them?

The Socom Elite looks cool, except for one little thing..they put the bloody lanyard hole like 1/64" from the edge of the handle! At least that's what it looks like to me in the pic in Blade Magazine.

What's up with that? It makes the knife look weak, like if I hit the handle on something by mistake it would crack and cave in?
