OK I used the search feature to no avail and now its time to ask my Spuder biten buddies for a hand. I took apart my Stretch for cleaning, very gunked up. Before the centering was decent. Now it is very far to the clip slide and I need to adjust it as far back to center as possible. Any tips, tricks, or magic voodoo you can throw my way would be greatly appreciated

The pivot pin isn't centered in the opposite liner?? May have even caught the pivot washer??
Take it apart and try it again.
Why?, it's very common to pinch the washer causing damage. Not a big deal necessarily, just a common mistake and you won't know till it's apart. Got a few bent washers laying around myself...

Just for reference, Spydercos, like most knives, are not built to be taken apart for cleaning. I've had manySypdercos over the years and the most they need are soap, water, and a tooth brush. Some knives, e.g. Chris Reeve's folders, are built for dis-assembly by the user. Chris Reeve's knives come with a wrench, lube, and for knives that need it, Loktite.

When you put it back together, make sure you use Loktite in the areas that it was used at the factory. For example, if you order a replacement clip from the Spyderco Factory Outlet, they send it out with a tube of the correct Locktite.

Loosen the pivot screw almost all the way, and wiggle the blade back and forth, this works for me, often....gets the innards all back in their places. If that doesn't work, do as above, take it apart and make sure the washers and such are properly seated..

They are ALL meant to be taken apart and serviced, eventually.....those bearings or phosphor bronze washers do wear out in time......Chris allows us to do it ourselves.

I have never taken a Spyderco apart for service. I've own many and have used my Spydercos hard for about 20 years. Knives are not guns, they don't require a takedown. The worst knife I got is an old Endura missing the tip and the integral clip. I bought it for $5 and it was a mess. Cleaned it with soap, hot water and a toothbrush, plus some Flitz. Came back with style and is still in use, hard use only, by one of my ladies, still clipless :).

I recently bought for areal cheap price a very old, well used Navigator, all scratched up. Just soap, water, Flitz, oil and 600 grit sand paper to bring back the stainless steel and it was gifted away.

I have used warranty repair, but have never needed to send a knife back for cleaning, sharpening or maintenance.

Spydercos are pretty care free for me! However, I don't know squat about the knives with bearings, maybe they need routine take downs, but I have yet to see Spyderco say their knives need routine takedowns in there product literature.
