This knife should see lots of use. It will be going to an avid outdoorsman who also works for the Alaska Game and Fish. He will also be bow hunting for bear, carrying it for emergencies and general camp chores.

The blade is 6 3/4 inch of 5160H, the hardware is hammered stainless, and the wood is Ironwood. Lin

Very nice piece Lin - I quite like the texturing on the guard.

Looks like it will fit the bill nicely.
Great looking Ironwood and the texture is pretty cooool.

nice knife, great looking wood, I don't doubt this knife will serve your patron well:)

Lin, nice work. Looks like this one would handle most chores thrown at it,
as well as looking nice in a collection.

ps..I emailed you through Bladeforums but it can be hit and miss at times, please email me at d.castor@netzero.net

I like it, except for the texturing on the guard. That looks like the perfect size for everyday use out in the woods.

Thanks. He asked that the guard be hammered to cut down on light reflection, considering that he will carry it in close proximity to game (traditional bowhunting). I am hoping to add engraving to my list of embellishments before long and this knife would have been a good example of where engraving could actually add to a knife's function. Lin

^interesting concept, Lin:thumbup:
I've never heard that rationale before, and it totally makes sense, especially with those thoroughly engraved hunting rifles. Camoflage, eh?

A functional bowie very capable of hard use and with pizazz.
Hard to beat that combination.
Unless you add a beautiful sheath ;)

Lin that knife is good looking now, but give it a couple of years in Alaska and it will put on some "character" that will make it look fantastic. I wish that "character" would do the same thing for the looks of a rifle. I had to constantly fight character on a hunt up there a few years back. The piece of junk, commercial knife I carried didn't gain any though. It wasn't because of the chrome in the metal; I think it was a lack of iron.

Good to see one going to a guy that is going to put it to good use.

Really like this one Lin, lucky fellow scored him self a great user knife. :)

You did a great job on the finish. -

I like it very much Lin. To dull the reflection on the guard, I think some stippling would do nicely. That would reduce glare to none.

Really beautifull knife!!!!
I enjoy your style very much Lin.
