I am looking for a good midsized fixed balde to carry for general tasks. I tend to like the fighter style more. My first thought was maybe to get an Integral for carring but the prices I foud rule that out for everyday carry(I know that the knives are made for use but still they are too damn nice. I will just get one for my collection).
I have seen alot of the big name knives but I was hoping to find something a little out of the ordinary and not so "tactical". I do not mind spending a few hundred(300-500) for it to be made. I have an American Ninja on order from Neil Blackwood but I want a few knives to alternate. I really do not want any more G-10 clad "black-ops" knives.

Any ideas?

Take a look at the Martin Quest I have on my page. It is g10 but the lines are awsome.

Ricky Fowler will make just about anything you want and uses a good variety of handle materials. Nice work great price. Another place to try.

OK one more .. I just ordered from Beknives. Havent recieved it yet so I cant talk about fit and finish but here is my answer to a "nice" midsize FB fighter. http://home.att.net/~a.boriqua/Images/beknives.jpg

Talk to Les Robertson or take a look at his site http://www.robertsoncustomcutlery.com

He has a large selection of customs at varying prices.

If you want a not-so-custom but very affordable knife, get a Randall. You can get one relatively quick from an authorized dealer such as Nordic Knives or you can find one in the aftermarket relatively easy.

Rich,
The American Ninja is on shedule!! I like Jerry Hossoms knives also. I got to handle quite a few at the Blade Show. I realy liked Matt Lameys knives I handled also.
Check out Kevin Pensinger at www.theedgeequipment.com he is a great guy to deal with and always has new knives comming in.

WOW! This is why I love this place. I ask for a name or two and I wind up with half a dozen. Well it looks like I have my work cut out for me. I will look into all of the makers listed and see what I find.

Readbeard: that is a great looking knife.

Neil: can't wait to see the knife. From the pic on your web page, I may just end up carrying that all of the time.

Well,
I just submitted an order for a Wally Hayes "Typhoon" with a 4.5 inch damascus blade blade. I saw it in the other post and I loved it. It has a classy look as well as a traditional look. It is just what I was looking for. But I am sure that it will not be my last knife.

I know you've chosen for now, but try a Bob Dozier Professional Guide's knife. It's not really a fighter, but it does have the slim, clean lines most fighters do. I think I've seen 'em in colors besides black as well. They cut great, and are reasonably priced.
