Mid tech/ custom

Hey guys I'm starting to get into the world of mid techs and customs but I don't know anything about them and what my first one should be but I don't wanna spend 1000$ i wana get one that is cheaper but still great the one I've been looking at is the mat cucceria el dorado stage 1 what do you guys think thanks !
