I am looking for mid tech flipper recommendations in the $200-500 range. I been looking at zero tolerances, jason brous, kizer and reate knives. The blade has to be at least 3.5 to 4.0 inches and the blade profile can be anything. I like all kinds of styles so just lay it on me. It can be a little more expensive if has the cool factor and built with quality.

Hi, I am the one who started the above mentioned thread. I ended up getting a Southard Tolk from BST here (but will receive it only in some 2-3 weeks). You may want to note that Southard just announced another batch of the Tolk model that includes also anodised handles. I only noticed after I bought mine.

Also check out the Freeman Flipper 451. I ordered it (and I am sending it back as it is not the type of knife I want) locally and it is one super cool knife for very reasonable price. There are 2 or 3 youtube videos - check them out.

And there is about a ton of other knives.

Oh and be careful. You will start to get recommendations on Shirogorov and Rockstead knives (both are at about 2x or more of your budget) before you know it :)

have fun!

I recommend the Reate horizon-ti or horizon-cf , beautiful knives with top materials and quality.

just got this one today....
$180 for it shipped.
its a spyderco domino with blue carbon fiber

The only thing i try to stay away from is titanium lockface unless it's carbidized or has a stainless steel face. Thanks for all the recommendations but i decided to go with the brous reloader g-10. I just love the style and shape.

Southard has "hardened" the lock face on the bare titanium also dealing with any wear issues.
