primitive site.
I will be building a fire ring, outhouse, and mowing down some pasture.
there will be a hawk throwing stump and maybe archery backstop.
this is also posted on a couple of other forums, so you could meet some new folks.
tent, hammock, & primitive shelter friendly.

I'm roughly 2 1/2 hours South of Omaha or North of Wichita, 1 1/2 hours West of Kansas City, and 4 miles off the pavement.
(also 5 miles from a casino)

Have fun! I won't be able to make it, since it's the weekend before deer season for me.
 
I understand -- there should be just enough time between the campout and deer season for the smells to go away and the deer to come back here.
 
I am in Lincoln so I could make it. I will have to check the calendar. Got a boyscout thing and Deer hunting coming. Thanks for the invite.
 
I will play this one by ear - that is a bit of a trip for a weekender for me - but I'll talk to the boys and see how much vacation is left at that time -

Of course I'm going to try and make it, its good there is plenty of time between now and then to dot 'i's and cross 't's and all that jazz.... :)

I've got a ton of arrows, doesn't mean I'm any good I just have them :D
 
I'll play this one by ear. It's only around 8 hours for me, so not too far, but then again, the 14th is my wife's birthday (and the 15th is my Mother's), so we might well be busy that weekend.
 
quick reminder - could be your last chance to get out before the snow starts flying.
(or the first after it does... if I'm lucky!)
 
early forecast is dubious
72 friday, 58 friday night
72 Saturday, 38 Saturday night
44 Sunday and a 30% chance of rain
of course, it's Kansas so the forecast WILL change between now and then, the main question is will the cold/wet be moved forward, back, or go away completely.

I'm still planning on being out there, and will supply a large shade structure in case of damp, plenty of food & liquid refreshment.
Friday night I'm providing venison goulash
Saturday a buddy is supplying smoked brisket and pork shoulder.
breakfast Saturday and Sunday will be skillet scrambles.

There will be a chance for shelter building, classes/practice on fire prep and fire building, a knife/hawk stump for throwing.
Pets are allowed so long as they are friendly and either on a leash or trained well enough not to go chasing the neighbor's cattle.
 
Man I wish I lived closer, I would totally be there. If you guys haven't met Erik in person he is one of the nicest people you will ever meet that could tear your arms off and beat you with them.
 
Wish I would have remembered this when I put in for the two weeks of vacation I'm just now wrapping up...

Tempting but I also need to find a new place to live and I'm saving up to cover the deposit and all that. If it wasn't so far to drive I could pop over because I'm not working Saturday and I'm back working days.
