Well, I recently got a Benchmade 710HS, and I freakin love it. Although, it is a half inch too long to carry in Washington legally; and therefor I am now gonna try and find an EDC.
So here is what I am looking for:
2.8 to 3.4 inches blade lengh
G10 handles are a plus
at least ATS34/154CM
very solid user
benchmade axis lock is a plus
one hand opener/closer

I am looking to spend under 130 dollars or so, but if anything is really worth it please do reccomend!

Thanks so much for the help!

Welcome to Bladeforums!

If you like the 710, how about a 705? That's the mini version.

I think you should also look at the Benchmade Model 555 Mini-Griptilian, blade length of 2.9” and an over all length of 6.75”, plain edge or partially serrated, and in different handle colors.

Benchmade 721 and 722 both meet all your requirements. The 721 has been recently discontinued but you can still find them if you shop around.

I agree with the suggestions of the Benchmade 720 (although aluminum instead of G-10), 721, or 722.

They are all VERY stout work knives.

Good luck,
Allen.

I like the BM 730 series. I have the 730CFHS, and it is very stout, with a nice wide blade, and hand-filling grip. The M2 is awesome, as far as edge holding, and the carbon fiber handles are very striking. I got mine for $100, and I'm sure you could find a user for less than $130.

For something a little classier, try to find a Spyderco Native with G-10. I think there were at least 3 versions, the BFC blue G-10, and the Shell inlays with black G-10. I'm still on the look-out for one of these. I'd also recommend the Viele Spyderco. Very classy, and quick. Although this is also discontinued, they are around.

So, right now I am really looking into the BM 940, 720, 705, and also the Buck/Strider 880 mini version. I think I will go to a cutlery store later this week and try and get some hands on with any of these knives I can find.
Thanks for the help everyone!

721 - g10 and a nice pardue bowie blade. They can be found. I picked one up here for 75 shipped NIB.

I'll put in a vote for the Benchmade 520. It's not G10, but it's (for me) the one benchmade that feels like part of my hand. I like the lines of others better, for example, the 94x series, but they feel far too small and insecure when I get them in hand. At 3.4", the 520 is legal in a lot more places than the 710. Now if BM would only come out with a S30V version in any color other than black, I'd have to buy spares.
