I'm looking for a neck knife, and the BK11 is at the top of my list.

Do any of you guys use yours daily, and how is it overall for that purpose?

As far as overall EDC use ,the BK 11 is as good as any necker out there.

The Bottle opener at the end s handy if you are a beer drinker ,but the handle ergos are a bit cramped and uncomfortable for some. It's a bit short and the abrupt self guard at the front is uncomfortable for many. It is a true three finger handle. If you need more room /comfort there the BK 14 is just as goof of a knife and the same blade. Both work very well as neckers.

i can open a bottle with pretty much any pocket knife so the bottle opener is not a big deal to me.

The 14 might be more my speed. Looks like a scale for it is much cheaper than one for the 11

During the Fall and Winter it rides shotgun in my coat pocket.
Whenever I'm camping, hiking, or fishing it's around my neck.
I think everyone should have a BK-11.
I've got a 14 with the Izula micarta and personally I like the feel and grip of the 11 with Ka-bar micarta better.
I think the BK-11 is the biggest bang for your buck!

To answer your question. Yes, I EDC my 11 for most of this summer. Sometimes swapping it out for my phat bob or sod buster, but for the majority of the summer it was my 11. I really like it. The 14's handle is definitely more comfortable but I just like the 11 more for some reason.

Yeah.. I saw that typo.. Pretty funny when that happens.

Corrected it.

Besides, bottle openers don't impress a bears much...Then again, not much does.;)

It rides everyday in my jeans in the original sheath. Isn't bulky doesn't show to the world you have a knife and don't bothers you. But still not leather and could be made better for the pocket carry the sheath, that's why i can't wait for my pocket sheath from skystorm to arive

I edc mine in my purse or bag. I used to edc it around my neck when I worked in home improvement. I love my 11!

A great necker is the bk13. But it all depends on what you need the necker for. I neck carry a custom knife that has a blade length of just over 1". It does everything I need it to. If you wasn't something stout then go for the 11 or 14. I think the 13 is over looked as a great necker and is a great knife. It will do everything you need it to even baton.

I've been wearing a BK11 around my neck all summer. First it was handleless and then it was wearing some beautiful walnut from Tommythewho. It sits there out of the way until I need it and then it's ready instantly. Perfect knife in the perfect spot.

I EDC my BK11 CSM fairly often, when I'm not EDCing one of my own design, or the Bark River Bravo Necker 2. It's definitely the one I grab when I think I'm likely to need a bottle opener. I don't mind the 3 finger grip.

I like the 11, but prefer the 14 by leaps and bounds. I'm not a beer drinker, and I hardly drink soda anymore either, so the bottle opener is pointless for me.

I think scales for the 11 is absolutely necessary. I've tried both the factory micarta and aftermarket wood.

Personally, I think Tommythewho's wood scales are the way to go. They give the knife a longer, fuller feel. You can actually get a real grip on it. It does add more bulk to the blade if you want to wear it around your neck, but I prefer to carry horizontally on the belt, so the added thickness doesn't matter. Also, Tommy's scales are cheaper than the micarta.

You'll also want a new sheath. The factory is sheath isn't awesome. But you can get kydex from AZWelke or Godspeed tactical, or leather from Skystorm and others for a really good price. I can vouch for AZWelke kydex, since it's what I use. And Skystorm's leather pocket sheath is great, too. I have one for my 17, and it carries real nice in the pocket.

BK11's my primary EDC. It rides in style in this pocket sheath...

I liked mine enough to shell out for custom canvas micarta scales, G-10 liners, and leather sheath. Totally worth it. Great little knife!
