Do I go combo with half serrated or just plain Jane? I will edc it so I thought part serrated might come in handy, although I don't like the look of them and wouldn't know how to sharpen it.

It depends on you and your needs. I prefer my knife to be in plain edge. I think serrations on knives will work better if you are in rescue situations, such as cutting rope, etc.

I don't think half serrated with plain edge combo is a good idea. It might make sense on larger blades, but for a small knife like the tenacious, I am not so sure about that...

I was in your shoes about three or four years ago. I bought a combo edge and soon regretted it. Not too big deal of a deal because I was on my way to buying more Spydercos that I use more anyway. My Tenacious now sits unused, but before that I fixed my combo edge problem. I've since realized that for me, a combo edge really only works on a blade with at least 4". Less than that and you just end up with too little of each type of edge. If you want a fully serrated knife check out the salt series with H1. Here's my combo edge Tenacious.

If your choices are PE or CE only then I would recommend PE. The blade is good for most edc except the most aggressive uses which would need SE

Keeping your PE sharp will go a long way for ease of use and sharpening will be a breeze.

If you already have a Sharpmaker, getting SE shouldn't be a concern. I personally prefer PE and my PE Tenacious & Resilience are easy to maintain.

I personally only use plain edge. I am good at sharpening therefore.
However on serrations I use a rat tail. For about ten bucks you can easily keep up with your serrations with a diamond rat tail.

.I'd go with plain edge for most knives and fully serrated as needed/wanted.

You can always carry one of each blade type, they don't take up much space if you spread them out a bit.

get the plane edge!unless your going to cut seat-belts,tree branches or saw though wood products! your better off with the PE.

Thanks guys for all the imput, seatbelts could actualy be a thing for me but we have stuff for that at work, and my edc wouldn't be easily assessable anyway, besides in a personal survival situation I would imagine a PE would cut a seatbelt if done right

My vote would be for a scary sharp PE. I would imagine that it would cut a seatbelt just fine. I think the SE makes more sense if you're cutting seatbelts 8 hours a day. Otherwise, my thought is that a scary sharp PE is more all-around useful for EDC.
