Does anyone have one of the new Taylor/Old Timer
18ot Mighty Mites? If so, are you happy with it?
These small single blade jobs fit my life style perfectly.

I have a similar liner-lock from the old Schrade, but larger: 194OT. I like the thin blade, but always found the knife a bit bulky. The 18 looks a handier size.

Lots of good knives are made in China.
The Taylors don't get much appreciation around here because we haven't gotten over the loss of the original company. Also I believe they're all stainless, which is largely dispreferred around here. On the other hand, I hear the Taylor has gotten rid of the Swinden key construction, which nobody liked.

If you get one, I'd like to hear how it performs for you.

My USA Mighty Mite is my favorite watch pocket carry. I use it often in very public situations.

I have no personal experience with the newer Schrades. They got a lot of bad press initially due to quality issues. I have read that they are greatly improved now and I've been meaning to try one.

Stainless instead of the great Schrade carbon, but on the other hand losing the Swinden key construction.

So, yeah, let us know.

Thanks!
I have a new 33ot that is nice but a tad large. An 18ot would go great with my Buck Solo.

Getting rid of the Swinden key construction is one big plus in my book, no matter where it's made!

I don't have that model, but I do have three of the Taylor-Schrade's; Uncle Henry LB7, Old Timer 7 OT, and a Imperial 4 blade Congress. All have solid construction, zero blade play, centered blades, and amazingly the Congress has no blade rub!!!
They did eliminate the Swinden key on all the folding knives.

I have a U.S.A.made one, but I never carry it because I feel it is to small to be useful half the time.

That's interesting. My little Solo is very useful. For bigger jobs I use a utility knife. I was a restaurant manager for 30 years. In my kitchen I only have 3 knives. But good ones.Hint... restaurant quality knives are not expensive. The pricey stuff is all a gimmick to get money from those who do not know better. Same with a ton of other kitchen gadgets. You will never see them used professionally.
Pete may concur.

I'm sorry, I hit send to soon. I would private message you but I can't do here it is out in the open. If you email me your address (address removed) I will mail you my U.S.A.18ot. I'm not using it.

Anyway, good on you sir!

I just ordered the 194OT, I am hoping it is not to big, I almost ordered the 180. We will see if I made the right choice next week.

I should have posted it in the "What did you use your traditional knife for" thread. That's the best use that knife ever got from me. I hope it serves you well.

To keep the karma going I made and delivered a homemade Pizza to my physical therapy coach. I challenge everyone to do a good deed and I'll be watching the mail box for the MITE.
