A while back someone mentioned an EDC sized Mike’s Knife. I stewed on it a bit and then grabbed a piece of steel
I used .200 thick 5160. EDC or not I like em sturdy! I gave it a nice thin edge though so it’s also a cutter 
Overall the EDC is 7 7/8in. The blade is 4 1/8in tip to scale and 1 1/4in wide. I used black G10 for scales and did a scalloped texture on them for a comfortable but secure grip. The EDC weighs in at 8oz. That should not drag the pants down too far! Here’s a pic alongside a full size Mike’s Knife.
