Mike Carter Drop Point Hunter IS IN!
Wow, two in one day!
This is one of Mike Carter's iconic pieces, seen on his web site, and recently purchased by yours truly.
This is one unique and outrageous hunter! 5 1/4" Alabama Damascus blade, 1 3/4" tall, nearly 10" overall. Rat tail tang. Hollow ground and semi-polished blade. Huge, warm, super-smooth, absolutely gorgeous, wonderful-in-the-hand Amboyna handle. Red, white, and blue spacers. Nickel silver bolster and butt cap. Hefty knife - about 14 oz. Wicked sharp. The sheath is hand tooled and a gem in its own, marked "Cater" on the back.
Mike Carter, who looks in on these forums, is also a relatively new knife maker and, again, I can imagine many more purchases down the road, based on this piece. Well done, Mike!
Should I use it... Too pretty to use... Must.. use...
