I have seen a few of Mike Franklins production knives around and they look pretty nice for the money.

I'd mainly be interested in his Hawkbill designs but comments on his other production knives are welcome also.

Has anyone used them or do you have any thoughts on them?

There was a thread a couple months back in which I described a HAWG that I got really cheap. Bottom line is that most people thought they were a POS. I think they are entertaining as a display piece if you can get one VERY cheap, as I did. However, they are not a sturdily built user. If you want a substantially constructed Franklin knife, I'm afraid you'll have to save up for the real thing.

I saw a few of these knives in a mall cutlery store. They are nice looking, but they are rather flimsy and not suited for everyday use.

I have one and it is easily the biggest POS knife that I own. I'm embarassed that I paid money for it.
