Here's another bowie I've got incoming. It's a Mike Johnson Texarkana 10.5in bowie. It caught my interest, not only because it Looks Great, but the way it was made; The blade is made up of 8 pieces of 3/16x1 inch 1084 steel. The guard and pins are SS,& the handle is Mortised Desert Ironwood.Check out the pics-This one is SWEEEEEET. It's hard to believe this guy's only been making knives for 3 years:cool:

If he's the Mike Johnson I know he is. I went to Jimmy Crowell's intro class to help him one day and Mike was taking Jimmys class. I'm pretty sure he forged the bowie then.

Very nice, very clean....Looks like John Fitch was one of his teachers. Nice work!!

Fitch AND Crowell. Both have been credited with teaching this young man, and it looks like they did a great job, as this man's stuff looks great. :)

I remember Mike!! My wife and I had dinner with him at the Austin show last year!. He is a great guy, and really is dedicated to makeing quality sharp pointy stuff.

Buddy,

Tell him I said HOWDY!! and I look forward to seeing him again.

Great grab Buddy, really nice piece from what looks like an extremely promising maker.
